What the calculator is estimating
For a 1,000 sq ft home, the maximum-quality estimate is 80 ton M-Sand, 25 ton P-Sand and 40 ton blue metal:
- M-Sand — for foundation, RCC, columns, brickwork
- P-Sand — for internal and ceiling plaster
- 20mm blue metal — for RCC slabs and beams

How we calculate: these are maximum-quality consumption rates for Chennai residential RCC construction — 80 ton M-Sand, 25 ton P-Sand and 40 ton blue metal per 1,000 sq ft of built-up area per floor. Conversions use the standard Chennai trade: 1 unit = 100 CFT, one tipper = 300 CFT, and 300 CFT ≈ 13 tons on average (varies by moisture and grade). Adjust for villas (+15% plaster), commercial (−10% plaster), or warehouses (−30% concrete). Live prices use this week's OneInfra price band. Transport is quoted separately on the call.
